Noosa National Park

About Noosa National Park

Noosa and its surrounds are blessed with a stunning array of spectacular and breathtakingly beautiful natural attractions which can be visited all year round, with a moderately warm climate 12 months of the year. Beaches from Coolum to Noosa North Shore welcome you with pristine sand and clear blue water, but delve a little deeper and you will find the Noosa region has many wonderful and unique spots where you can discover nature in all of its glory.
At one end of Main Beach is Noosa National Park, ideal for walks and hikes to fabulous hidden beaches. Many native animals live in the National Park including koalas and birds of all varieties and you can often see marine life such as whales (during migration season, from June to October), sea turtles and dolphins swimming up and down the coastline.

The Noosa River meanders through Noosaville and on to the calm waters of Noosa’s lakes. The region is also home to the pristine Everglades, within 20 minutes of the hinterland, and is the gateway to World Heritage-listed Fraser Island where tours will take you past the Coloured Sands and Double Island Point.

Noosa is one of Australia’s newest National Surfing Reserves, which recognises the environmental, heritage, sporting and cultural value of a destination. Noosa was awarded National Surfing Reserve status in March 2015 and this international status recognises Noosa’s five famous point breaks, from the Noosa River mouth to the northern end of Sunshine Beach, including all of Noosa’s iconic point breaks in and around Noosa National Park.
